Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the world’s highest railway, extends 1956 kilometers from Xining to Lhasa. About 960 kilometers of the line is more that 4,000 meters above sea level and the highest point is 5,072 meters. The railway was commissioned on July 1 2006. Enjoy the beautiful scenery from the high speed train. It took us 25 hours from Xining to Lhasa!

Tibetan Mastiff dog breed belong to an ancient stock. It is believed that at least most of all mastiffs descend from that old Tibetan stock. Tibetan Mastiffs is very large. They were once used to guard the holy city of Lhasa and even now those few that remain in Tibet still make excellent guard dogs. The breed began to die out in Tibet during the 19th century until English breeders took them home and bred them. Even now they are still rare. English Mastiffs are quite gentle.

The Largest Giant Panda Eco-Park in the world at Chengdu, China is a world renowned ecological conservation. Giant pandas are naturally solitary animals. Their habitat are gradually destroyed and fragmented. Pandas enjoy naps, are playful and feast on bamboo.
Giant Panda Revisited 2010
The Chengdu Panda Base not only dedicated itself to giant panda conservation, but has also made great efforts to combine natural scenery and man-made landscapes to create wonderful and humane living areas for giant pandas and red pandas.

Unlike the giant panda, the red panda has a bushy tail. One can easily mistaken it for a fox.

Red pandas are not red coloured giant pandas as most people would think. Often, they are mistaken for a cross between foxes and racoon due to their red brown fur and long tail (with racoon-like stripes). The Chengdu Panda Base not only dedicated itself to giant panda conservation, but has also made great efforts to combine natural scenery and man-made landscapes to create wonderful and humane living areas for giant pandas and red pandas.
