Liver CA: Benefit & Side Effects of Nexavar

In November 2010, Mutu, 48 years old started having coughs with phlegm. In late December 2010, he was admitted into a private hospital with pains and nausea. A CT scan of the abdomen showed multiple masses in his liver. A biopsy confirmed moderately differentiated infiltrating liver cancer. Mutu was prescribed Nexavar costing RM20,000 per month. He suffered these side effects: bloatedness, shoulder muscle pain, sleeping difficulty, nausea and sometimes vomiting, dizzy when walking, loss of appetite due to bloatedness, cramps of fingers and toes, constipation.
