Liver Cancer: Squamous Cell Carcinoma Flared Up after Liver CA Resolved

HY is a 54-year male from Hong Kong. He was diagnosed with liver cancer (HCC- hepatocellular carcinoma) in 2007. There was a 3cm mass at segment 8 of his liver. CT scan showed that there was a stricture of his bile duct. In mid-March 2009, HY’s sister contacted us about her brother’s illness and requested for help. HY was a smoker. HY’s problems at that time were as follows:
Difficulty sleeping. Slept 3-4 hours a day, from 3-4 a.m. and woke up at 7-8 a.m. Always feeling tired. Frequent urination, once every 15-20 minutes. CT scan on 15 December, 2008 indicated tumour in segment 8 of liver (3.7X3,7X3.6cm in size). The intrahepatic ducts were still dilated. There was a 6 mm nodule at base of right lung.
